These plastic saucers are designed for use with Sankey lightweight plastic pots.
Hard wearing and durable, the saucers enable excess water to run off from the pots and can be used repeatedly in unison with lightweight plastic pots for all your planting and propagating projects.
A time saving, self watering adaptation to a standard plant pot comprising a funnel shaped liner separating the main pot into a water reservoir and a separate area for adding your compost and planting up. The reservoir incorporates a wick system, allowing watering by capillary action from below your plants (patent applied for), reducing leaching of plant nutrients through the soil when compared to watering from above. There is also a reduced compost requirement/cost, and drastically reduced watering frequency requirement (especially useful in the hot, fast growing summer months). Any natural Rainfall in excess to the capacity of the compost within the liner will filter through to the reservoir where it is stored for later recycling and use by your growing plants (upto the level of the modified overflow and drainage point).
A great labour saving idea and good for the environment too(retaining more natural rainfall).
The liner may be lifted out of the main outer pot for cleaning or emptying etc, ....This also allows the possibility of swapping a finished or tired floral display with a pre- prepared fresh one instantly....(subject to having a second liner available...contact us for further details).
